Mental illness and kids: one mom's story
http://www.cnn.com/interactive/2013/12/health/mentally-ill-son/
I'll be honest, I couldn't bear to read the whole thing. I was a mentally ill kid too. Except in the 1980s, there was about zero help. I was taken to many different psychiatrists by my mom; it was either "he'll grow out of it" or "he's hopeless, if there were still institutions he'd be in one". In addition, my dad was mentally ill too, and there was little help for him as an adult as well.
I wonder if this kid's problem isn't related to schizophrenia-he hears voices, after all. I didn't start hearing voices until I was about 25 or 26, then they were suppressed for a few years by an antipsychotic I was taking for irrational fears, then I was taken off that drug and the voices ramped up. One thing normal people don't realize is that outside the voices are quiet. That may be why so many schizos choose lives of homeless wandering-it calms the voices.
Most schizos don't or can't realize that the voices have no power over them. They don't know how to fight back against the voices. It takes medication, yes, but it also takes determination when the voices are saying "we're real!" to say back at them "no, you're not, and I can prove it". The voices don't want you to take your medication, this is almost universal in schizophrenia, for some reason the voices are afraid of the meds.
The voices are bullies, but like every bully they're weak at heart, and they put on the tough guy act to make you THINK that they're authoritative, but once you start fighting them they back down. I want to say to everybody who hears the voices, fight them tooth and nail, tell them they're not real, google everything they tell you to prove they're lying. And, take your meds, even though they will tell you not to, set your alarms in the morning and take the meds.

Chaos in Cordoba, Argentina, as cops go on strike
From Argentine expat Ferfal:
http://www.themodernsurvivalist.com/archives/3128
I'm no friend of LEO's, I'll admit. But what happens in a devolved society like Argentina where suddenly there are no cops? PARTY TIME! Every conceivable store gets looted, residences are broken into, and people scramble to defend themselves against a total ungluing of civilization. A common meme in the survivalist community is that the planet is nine meals away from chaos. Actually, only one thing stands between "civilization", even a degraded form of it, and chaos: cops.
Considering how many cops are corrupt or burned out, how they tend to see everybody as a potential suspect, blah blah blah, that's a scary idea. It makes one wonder how Old Western towns got along without LEO's, but the towns had one thing that the world today lacks: Morality. Parents taught kids morals, the community reinforced it, and everybody got along. Today, the parents are absent, either at work or on drugs, and kids raise each other. Lord of the Flies time. Especially since the last people with morals are dying off. Once they're gone, it's likely that Western Civilization will bite the dust. The resources have been depleted, the population of the planet is grossly inflated far beyond carrying capacity, so now it's time to pay the piper.
Stephen Hawking, one of the smartest people alive today, recently said that humanity will likely go extinct by the year 3000, ie 1000 years from now. I would be surprised if it lasted until the year 2100, 100 years from now. We are 100% dependent on technology that in turn depends on resources that will start to run dry in about 20-30 years. Without our technology, we're goners. We have evolved to depend on it. First comes looting for TVs, then the electricity goes away so in the next stage people grab food, then there's no more food so they eat each other, then even that is depleted, so they will simply die. We are as amoral as Romans were in AD 400. By AD 700 Rome was a ghost town. Rome had a population of 1 million in AD 300. History does repeat.

The Free Stuff Army, the decline of the white race, and the end of the Jewish Diaspora
I recently came across this article from a rabbi, from a link on Survivalist Boards:
http://rabbipruzansky.com/2012/11/07/the-decline-and-fall-of-the-american-empire/
Disclaimer: I don't know anything about this guy, nor is this an endorsement outside of the linked article.
Rabbi Pruzansky's point is, essentially, that takers outnumber makers in an America and world where Whites are in the minority, and eventually the takers will "redistribute" the wealth of the makers, then kill the makers, not realizing that the golden goose has been cooked and eaten. Jews are once again under attack, and in a country that many of them viewed as a safe haven. Assembling the entire body of Judaism in Israel only makes them easier to find and kill once the chaos after the fall of America reaches that corner of the world.
But what choice do they have? At least united, they can fight till the end, then invoke the Samson Doctrine and pull most of the Muslims down with them. Whites and Jews have always been the "makers", what happens when the whites and Jews have been eliminated? That day is coming. The only option that "palefaces" have is to take as many of the attackers out with them as possible.
The irony is that it is likely that we are in this sorry position because Jews were afraid of whites after the horrors of the Shoah (Holocaust), and wanted to prevent another one. They wanted to disenfranchise whites and lift up the third world. Instead, we have a Jewry that has painted itself into a corner. The third world wants free stuff, and they don't care where it comes from. The poor vastly outnumber the rich. The poor want the cash and goodies of the rich, and are willing to take them by force.
Margaret Thatcher once said, socialism works great until you run out of other people's money. The poor have learned that they can vote themselves the lucre of the rich, and then vote themselves their existences. Once the rich are dead and gone, what then? Likely the weirdest world war you've ever seen, more like Iraq than WW2, where there is no safe haven and danger can come from anywhere. Eventually, the bullets will run out, the knives will break, and the rocks too slippery with blood to hurl. Then, humanity will go extinct, or near-extinct.
The human population growth curve since 1946 looks exactly like a population bubble in nature. Once the bubble pops, numbers drop immediately to near zero. May your G-d have mercy on us, Rabbi. We will need it.

Number of people signed up for Obamacare via "Cover Oregon": Zero.
I follow the news out of southern Oregon because I hope one day to be a resident of the area. Recently KDRV-TV in Medford reported that exactly zero people had signed up for health care via the state health exchange, dubbed Cover Oregon. The websites created for O-care are full of bugs and don't function properly. In addition, people are finding out that Obama lied, and millions are getting dropped from their previous plans, and told to sign up for new ones via healthcare.gov, which doesn't work. In January, people will face hefty fines for not having insurance.
Let's be honest here. It may sound like conspiracy theory, but O-care has likely been from the beginning a huge tax hike on Americans via the guise of "not having health care", which they can't sign up for but they will still be fined for. The offered plans have sky high deductibles and very low maximums. The government is looking for a way to keep up their spending habits, so they're wringing as much money out of the populace as possible. Once the American public has nothing more to tax, they will be eliminated. Don't forget that the American debt is backed by the labor of the American people. That means our creditors the banksters (50% of outstanding debt is held by the banks, China only holds 1/16th) will simply seize the people, aka the collateral, when default comes.
Look on a dollar bill, it says right on it that it is debt. What is the debt backed by? The full faith and credit of the US Govt. What is the govt? Well, the people. The American citizenry IS the debt, in other words. We are all collateral for the US govt's debt. The govt derives its right to tax us from the fact that we have an obligation to pay the govt's bills. When the govt can't pay, it is the people who get wiped out.
Anyway, the govt has to tax the people, and institute giant tax hikes, to pay its bills. O-care was a sneaky backdoor way of forcing the American public to buy govt bonds. That "penalty for not having insurance" will buy govt bonds. The insurance companies will buy govt bonds with the premiums they get from the people. Since they won't have to pay any claims, and stocks are "too risky", they will buy T Bonds. That money will fund the govt. The whole scheme is unraveling, and fast. The govt is desperate for cash. If you are "rich", a word with a definition written on rubber, you will pay. Your money and eventually your life.

Debt, dysfunction, and the end of the (financial) world
It's a dead man's party
Who could ask for more
Everybody's coming
Leave your body at the door
-Oingo Boingo
As I write this, the world is anxiously watching a standoff between Barack Obama and John Boehner over the US debt limit. Boehner wants to force an abandonment of America's new, badly designed health care system, dubbed "Obamacare", in exchange for raising the debt limit and reopening the federal government, which has been shut down since October 1. Obama is demanding a "clean" resolution, without conditions. Republicans are insisting that defaulting on the debt won't be so bad. Message boards insist that we need to walk away from our debt and "get it over with".
The world in general has been loaded up with debt, and eventually this debt will lead to nuclear war and the end. Nobody disputes that. The only question is, fast or slow? Do we default now, or do we drag it out, hopefully giving people more time to prepare? (Although I fail to see how you "prepare" for a total nuke war, but maybe it won't come to that. Conventional war is still bad-ask the Germans, who have huge mountains of rubble in their cities from WW2.) Right now, I'm not prepared. My mom won't let me grow a garden, or keep animals. She simply refuses to hurt any animal, even for food. I am working on paying down my dental bills, and hope to have them paid by December 2014. I hope to have my own land, all ready to go, by 2017. Defaulting now would mean that people who are aware but who can't prep the way they want will die.
Defaulting later means that maybe some will live. Even without war, a debt default means that currencies inflate heavenward, grocery stores run out of food, cities explode in riots. Eventually, crime becomes untenable as people with no future and no hope kill each other to survive. Argentina is probably the best example of this. In December 2001, the small middle class of that country found the banks closed one day. When they reopened, withdrawal limits were in place, dubbed "corralito" by locals. The same thing happened in Cyprus.
I have to believe that the politicians don't realize how bad it could get. Delaying the inevitable for one year, or five, or ten, won't help the majority, who will always be blind, stupid sheep. But maybe some will come to their senses, and prep. The game of chicken that is being played in Washington is already spooking the bankers. Last time that the politicians did this, interest rates for the undeveloped world stayed high for months, and buyers shied away from Treasuries for a while.
That brings me to another subject, the fact that Congress can't agree on anything except lining their own pockets. Democrats oppose everything Republicans do. Republicans oppose everything that Democrats do. Bipartisanship and compromise died unholy deaths in DC long ago, now each side wants the other to fail, just so they can point fingers and blame at each other. Republicans are so obsessed with destroying Obama that they're willing to play Russian Roulette with the human race just to achieve that goal. But hey, at election time each side can blame the other. Never mind that if one day they choose the chamber with the bullet, that there might not be a next election, or humans to vote in it.

This is my first time blogging in months. It's likely nobody will read this, but I felt I had to comment on the latest wave of parents of autistic kids killing their offspring. A few months ago, the mother and grandmother of a Chicago boy with such severe autism that he had to be restrained every time he went to the hospital gave him a fatal dose of sleeping pills, and when that failed to kill him, stabbed him in the heart. A few days after CBS aired a report that was perceived as sympathetic to the killers, Kelli Stapleton of Michigan locked her daughter Issy in a van with two portable grills blazing, hoping to kill her with carbon monoxide. She nearly succeeded, but fell short. She is now in a rural jail in northern Michigan, charged with attempted murder and facing life without parole. When that was in the news, a mother of two kids, one autistic, one NT, drove from Arizona to California and poisoned her kids in a motel near Disneyland. Those kids both died.
The autistic community is split on these murders. Autistic adults generally want to stand the parents up against a wall and shoot them. There is no justification for these murders, they argue, and the sympathy extended to the killers only encourages a view that the disabled are not worth the trouble ("life unworthy of life", in German parlance) and encourages more murders. The parents of autistic kids generally want people to consider the enormous stress that the parents are under. In that view, the mother "snaps" under the pressure, and deserves our sympathy.
A mother killing her kid is an act that is so unnatural that it's inevitable that many will recoil in horror. The general view of autistics is that my mom could have killed me, and then I wouldn't be here. Reading the blogs of Kelli and her friend Lisa Sain, whose son Preston was nonverbal and impossible to control as he got older, one gets the impression that these mothers were gradually losing their sanity over the challenges of raising a severely autistic kid. Issy would hit her mother on the head until Kelli lost consciousness. Preston would hit his mom too, and strip off his clothes in public. Both kids had been given medication (risperidone?) that had the side effect of turning them into physical Gargantuas, huge for their age and impossible to control.
It seems that the general procedure for controlling an autistic kid having a meltdown is simply to sit on them until they become exhausted and give up. Teachers do it, parents do it. This is the exact WRONG thing to do. It only encourages the kid to be more violent, and stops working once they get older. What happens when it takes 3,4,5 people to hold down a massive 14 year old? And then there's Lovaas ABA, which seems to be a more advanced version of this. Videos from the behavioral institute where Issy went show staff holding her hands so she can't stim, holding her shoulders down so she can't get up. Audio is missing, so we don't know what they were saying. Eventually Issy loses it and starts beating one of the staff, and other staff members rush in and yank her off. The general rule is to *keep doing this* until the autistic stops rebelling. In other words, break them of their will like a wild horse. Can't break them? Kill them. Apparently being "normal" is so important that these kids must be stuffed into the mold at any and all costs, including murder.
Did nobody tell Lisa that Preston is taking off his clothes because of sensory issues? Did nobody tell the behavioral "specialists" that stimming and pacing is like breathing to an autistic? Did nobody warn Kelli Stapleton in 2003 that hey, one day you won't be able to sit on Issy to control her, and she'll kill you? There's a video from a Kalamazoo TV station where Kelli is asked, you think Issy will kill you one day, and she says, she WILL kill me one day! Kelli's view was much like that of an abused wife, and eventually a choice is made: me or her. Either Issy dies or I die. That common thread seems to run through these murders: years and years of ineffective and wrong "treatments", followed by murder in the belief that the kid will kill mom, and so the kid has to die first.
We don't know a lot about treating autistics. What we DO know is that it's a "defect", if you will, in the basic wiring of the brain. You CANNOT rewire an autistic brain! You can't use force to rewire them. You are only teaching the kid that violence is ok, and soon you have a violent 14 year old with 5 grown men trying to restrain her, one who beats mom into Level 2 Trauma and closed head traumatic brain injury. Eventually, the violence becomes too much, and the mom kills the kid. How about, instead of violence, trying a different solution? When the kid throws himself on the floor and screams, let him scream until he's screamed out, WITHOUT restraining him? Few of these kids start out with abuse and destruction from here to Sunday, usually it's a 3 year old rolling around on the floor screaming. The kid is held down instead, and learns to hit to be released. From there it just picks up steam until you have a violent kid.
My mom used to just let me have my tantrums when I was little. It was embarrassing: I would start screaming in the middle of Sunrise Mall, and mom would simply drag me to the fountain and watch me until I calmed down. It was 1977 and nobody knew anything about autism, people would come by and say "shut that kid up!" She seemed to know that she couldn't stop a meltdown. Teachers didn't try to hold me down in the early 80s. It worked. Why not try that before you have a human wrecking ball on your hands?

ADHD in childhood linked to adult obesity
http://vitals.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/05/20/18343200-adhd-in-childhood-linked-to-adult-obesity-study-finds?lite&ocid=msnhp&pos=3
I was diagnosed with ADHD at age 9, and today I'm only beginning to lose weight. I find it hard to concentrate on cooking a meal, so for years I simply ate fast food, until I couldn't afford it anymore. By 2011 I was 325 lbs on a 5'7" frame. Right now I'm 298. I have Type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure from neglecting my health for so long, and eating sugar whenever I felt like it. I even kept eating cake and candy AFTER being diagnosed with diabetes, to the point where my mom had to take away my debit card to curb my runaway spending. The weird thing is, I never spent on luxuries like some people who fill their houses with junk, I only bought food. I never "window shopped", but impulsive buys at the supermarket are a constant problem. Supermarkets are set up to facilitate impulsive buying of junk food, which makes it even harder for those with ADHD to control their diets.

More on autistic people and employment
http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2012/apr/06/autistic-workers-employers-ignorance
The above article was recently brought to my attention. I suspect the situation is even worse in the US, where social skills and fitting in are far more valued than doing the job correctly, in fact those who know how to "brown nose" the right people often can get away with nearly completely shirking their job duties, and those who don't fit in are fired. In addition, getting hired in the US heavily depends on whether previous employers liked you, which means that eventually autistics who try to work end up with a lot of bad references and eventually nobody at all wants to hire them. I know that I have trouble making eye contact during interviews, which means that I can't get past them. My lack of employment experience occasionally leads people to think that I am some sort of criminal. Autistics who try to start their own businesses find that nobody wants to be their client. The result is that capable people are forced to subsist on disability pensions. Maybe that's just as well, since there's not enough work for the number of people who are alive. I suspect that eventually the "problem" will be "solved" via war, famine, and disease, and possibly a return of the gas chamber.

The impossibility of feeding oneself
I was thinking today about how difficult it is to earn money. Here in California you need to be licensed out the wazoo simply to wipe an old person's butt. Any type of physical labor requires a contractor's license, which is nearly impossible to get unless it's a big corporation. Even computer repairmen need to be licensed. Stings are regularly conducted, with harsh prison sentences meted out to men simply trying to feed their families.
90% of autistics are unemployed. That's a big number, but consider the even bigger numbers: 60% of the labor force isn't participating in gainful employment. Most of the remaining 40% are working just minimum wage jobs.
Most people are finding out that all the junk they own is literally worthless. Books that originally cost $25 go for 99 cents on Ebay. Most yard sales are full of old glassware and stuff that maybe has recycle value, if that. Even tradespeople can't earn a living. People are so broke they do their own plumbing and house repairs, even cut their own hair. Physical labor pays so little for what it entails that only Mexicans do it, and they live like animals, 40 to a two bedroom house, to be able to make it on what they earn.
I started a blog and tried to apply for Adsense, only to be turned down so fast that it must have been rejected by a computer, and now my account is blacklisted, and I can't apply for Adsense at all. It's impossible to get an answer from Google, Google is just a black box, no communication, the computers automatically reject you.
If it was the intention of the elite to force everybody into such abject misery that they would willingly give up their freedoms for a few slices of bread, it worked. I owe so much money from previous business ventures, and from dental work, that I'll never pay it off. My mom owes so much money she'll never pay it off. Nothing pencils out, every avenue of earning money costs too much and pays too little. I looked into government surplus, but it costs too much, far more than I could ever resell it for. I can't even afford food. People are finding that the only way to earn money is to scam each other, but I'm not even a good liar. I have poor fine motor coordination, so I can't repair anything, which doesn't matter because people can't afford to have stuff repaired. I am out of options.

Cats in a dog world, ants in a grasshopper world
Somebody on Wrong Planet recently said that people with Aspergers are "cats in a dog world", meaning that "aspies" function more like cats and normal people more like dogs. Aspies are independent and willful, while most people just follow their pack. It occurred to me that the same dichotomy is at work with preppers vs non-preppers. It is frequently said that preppers are the industrious ants, laying in supplies during good times to survive bad times, while normals are grasshoppers, enjoying themselves during good times, partying the night away, then when bad times hit they are totally unprepared and figuratively freeze to death in the snow while the ant is warm and fed in his hole.
To be a prepper, you have to show a willingness to be independent and to swim upstream, many times our own families don't understand us and laugh. My mother keeps saying "what will be will be, no sense worrying about it" and "we will get through it". I see empty platitudes as just stupid in the face of pending economic collapse, and can only hope that I can get my own land before SHTF, since mom won't let me have meat animals or a garden.
The pack mentality is at work, since everybody else is buried in their iTrash and only care about Dancing With The Stars, who are we to intrude on their fun. Hey guys, the Fed is printing $85 billion a month. So what, they say, nothing will happen. And besides American Idol is far more important! Right? If they bother to watch the "news", it's on ObamaVision and everything is just great thanks to the Fearless Messiah, the economy is booming, people are back at work, la de dah. People simply don't want to prep, they don't want to understand what it's like to be independent. Fine, starve then.

When will SHTF? Watch California.
California is most people's last choice for a BOL, and with sky high taxes, millions of welfare leeches, and a liberal state government bent on wrecking the place, it's easy to see why. But the qualities that make California unattractive to preppers make it the place to watch as a canary in the coal mine to tell when SHTF might be right around the corner.
California's economy is going gangbusters right now, led by Silicon Valley which is about the only thing that America has left going for it. Apartments are literally impossible to find in San Francisco, long lines at open houses and deluges of applications complete with references, pre-pulled credit reports, and rental histories are the norm. And that's just the rental market-real estate is seemingly back to the halcyon days of the 2000s bubble, with the Sacramento News & Review even proclaiming "Housing Bubble 2". Needless to say, when the cracks start to show in this frenzy, it may be time to bug out.
California has been led back to illusory "fiscal solvency" by Jerry Brown, a small budget surplus is in the offing, the first since the dot.com bubble. Watch California's budget closely, when it starts to wobble, be wary.
One poster on Survivalist Boards noted that no-doc mortgages, yes those evil buggers that nearly brought down the world economy, are back in California. The real estate frenzy is so crazy in California that the banksters are willing to forget every lesson they learned about junk mortgages. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. And there's plenty of shame to go around. It seems that many in California are willing to be fooled over and over and over. Problem is, the fool's game can only go for so long before the foolers run out of fools. All bubbles pop. Use this one to get your preps in order.

Shaving after SHTF
One of the craftiest moves Gillette ever made was getting rid of the old fashioned out-of-patent double edge safety razor in favor of proprietary cartridge razors that are "updated" every five years. Whoever thought of selling people a cheap plastic handle for $10 then pricing four cartridges that only last for a few shaves at $15 was an evil genius. In the UK Gillette cartridge packs are the most shoplifted item in the country. An investigation revealed that Gillette pays about 30 pence (maybe 75 cents USD) for a four pack that is then sold for 10 pounds. Of course, since you can't stock up on these things at that price, you run the risk of not being able to shave if there's ever a retail disruption.
I solved the problem by buying a Merkur 23C/180 safety razor for $35 off Ebay. The blades are out of patent and super cheap. As for blades, I was recommended Astra Superior Platinum blades made in Russia and sold online by bestshave.net for $1.07 for 10. Now THAT is easy on your wallet! If you don't want to wait a month for the blades to ship from Turkey (yes, Turkey), I've been told that the dollar store sells blades that will do a pretty good job. They're called Panoramio I think. At $1 for 10, you can stock up. And you're not locked into a proprietary shaving system.
By the way, I find that I bleed a lot less with a double edge than with a five blade cartridge razor. I hate shaving, so I let my beard grow until it's scratchy (about 2 weeks) before I finally give in and shave it. The cart razor couldn't handle such a thick beard, and would break, but the double edge can handle it just fine. The whole cartridge razor racket reminds me of an old comedy skit from the 1970s where they kept adding blades to a cartridge. The actor would come out with an ever bloodier face each time, with toilet paper stuck to the wounds. I suppose that they will be advertising the "close shave" next, like when irons acquired so many holes in the ironing surface that they left clothes damp, which was then used as a marketing gimmick.

Mental illness after SHTF
The big problem with the mentally/neurologically ill after say an economic collapse is that the medications they rely on to stay sane will no longer be there. In Greece when the economy collapsed, all medical imports stopped. Gradually the pharmacies ran out of everything, which was just as well since there was no money for medicine anyway.
If you're Type I Diabetic, and depend on refrigerated insulin, it's pretty clear that you would die after an economic collapse. Does anybody remember the scene after Hurricane Katrina where the TV crews are at the convention center, and this woman is telling them that she hasn't had her insulin shots since the storm, and then she just keels over on camera? Luckily, somebody had a vial of insulin, or it's likely that she wouldn't have woken up.
But if you are mentally ill, and depend on antipsychotics to stay sane, you will still be alive and physically healthy, but out of your mind. Without meds, schizophrenics are prone to bouts of confusion (I'm one of the few who can stay lucid while still hearing voices), and autistics to bouts of rage that can result in property damage (at a time when the stores are empty) and even injury. Few people truly need antidepressants or anti-ADHD meds, most of the latter are simply legal meth anyway and while taking them away may cause psychotic breaks in some people, they will be better off without them in the long run. Schizos truly NEED antipsychotics or else they may do bizarre things.
The first thing to do, before a SHTF, is make sure that there's no wheat, or preferably other grain, in your preps. Ever notice how everybody on Doomsday Preppers weighs 400 lbs? That's from wheat. When the UK was deprived of wheat during WW2, psychiatric disorders in the population greatly decreased. You don't need to feel agitated while you're cooped up in the house during a riot or coup! Carbohydrates are cheap, but humans tend to react badly to them. Chickens eat corn. Humans eat chickens. If you can raise small livestock, do so. Sticking to a diet composed generally of meat and avoiding wheat should greatly decrease confusion and agitation.
If you're eating from cans, you will eventually get salt poisoning. The remedy for this is a shot glass full of lemon juice mixed in with 16 oz of lukewarm water. If you can't plant a lemon tree, you might want to stock lemon juice in your preps. Salt poisoning causes agitation, which makes me wonder how many "ADHD" kids simply have eaten too much salt, since it's in literally everything. Then of course the kids are given speed, which if they're ever taken off it can cause psychotic breaks, and if they're not eventually turns the kids into dope fiends.
These two precautions should help greatly with the rages that autistics suffer, and should lessen a schizo's confusion and voices.

Suicides among middle aged whites soar
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-05-03/middle-aged-suicide-rate-surges
White middle aged people are killing themselves at a steadily increasing rate. Keep in mind that many of these are Generation Xers who gave up grunge and skepticism for a chance to grab the ring. Problem is, there is no ring. They're stuck in houses worth less than the amount owed, working jobs that don't pay the bills, with a spouse and several kids to feed, mountains of debt to pay, and a 3000 sq ft house full of worthless junk. Yeah, I'd off myself too.
When I went to my 10 year HS reunion in 2004 (should have been in 2003 but was delayed), most all the women were pregnant and happily expecting children. I knew there was a crash coming and thought they were foolish, but nobody listened. Having a baby in 2005 is kinda like having a baby in 1929. Suddenly, you can't feed it, and you are living in your minivan. Mommy, I'm hungry. Mommy, I hate sleeping in an RV. Mommy, the kids at school all make fun of me because we're poor. Soon the solution becomes to kill the kid and yourself. Believe it or not, I got yelled at by a certain survivalist blogger who didn't like that I thought having kids in a collapsed economy was stupid. I'm SO glad I don't have a family to feed.

Finding work while autistic
http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/30/health/irpt-autism-in-the-workplace/index.html?hpt=hp_c2
I know that I have always had problems interviewing. My problem is that I can't make eye contact when I'm nervous, a common problem among autistics. Interviewers say, well he's nice, but he doesn't look us in the eye and that's creepy. From other postings on autism board wrongplanet.net, it seems that most autistics have trouble holding down jobs. Only 10% of us are gainfully employed! Employers seem to value "fitting in" and playing "office politics" far more than actually doing the job correctly. The work world will have to change, or else society runs the risk of millions of alienated autistics causing trouble in the future. Already some autistics talk about "aspie armies" overthrowing the system. In the future it may not be just the whining of teenagers.

Schizophrenia: foods to avoid
The problem with treating paranoid schizophrenia is that the available medications don't work all that well. Side effects abound, from rotten teeth to rotten livers, and many sufferers still hear voices telling them not to take their meds, making treatment a challenge. Part of the issue usually is that they're eating the wrong things.
Wheat exacerbates the voices. In the book Wheat Belly, Dr. William Davis notes a study where schizos in an institution were given a gluten-free diet. The improvements were remarkable-one woman who had been institutionalized for 50 years was even essentially cured! People with mental illness generally should avoid wheat. When I gobbled three bowls of stuffing last Thanksgiving, I was stuck listening to some pretty bizarre stuff for a couple weeks.
Stevia, a sugar substitute sold as "Truvia" in the US, also causes me problems, including diarrhea and increased voices. I was looking for a sugar replacement, and tried stevia, and got VERY sick.
I personally use the Paleo Diet, google it. I tried to convince another schizo online to try it, and she said, oh no, I'm a vegan. Well, ok, but if your coffee mug won't shut up, you need to reconsider.

The Maywatcher welcomes you! This new blog will be about mental/neurological disorders and survivalism in any combination. I am your host, The Maywatcher. I feel that my plan would best be served by anonymity, but I can tell you that I am a 38 year old white male somewhere in suburban Sacramento, CA. I hope to earn some money and relocate to Klamath County, Oregon, within the next couple years. I suffer from Asperger Syndrome, ADHD, OCD, Tourette Syndrome, and paranoid schizophrenia. I am currently interested in survivalism and self-reliance, and hope to become largely self-reliant by the time the current economic bubble pops. A blog was suggested to me as a way to earn money, since I currently live on Social Security. We all know that won't be around forever! Watch this blog for more posts in the future.
